What is the accurary of the movie The Green Berets compared to reality?
There are parts of the fictional movie that are accurate, and there are parts of the movie that have been Hollywoodised. The movie The Green Berets was based on a book by author Robin Moore. In the 1960's Mr. Moore went through the U.S. Army Special Forces Qualification Course as research for the book. So there are definately parts of the movie based on reality (the structure of the teams, the scrounging, etc.). However, John Wayne's character, a Colonel going out on Team missions, was a Hollywood spin.
